Compensation based on experience.
Assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in various functions including assessment of resident care needs and implementing appropriate actions. Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures and assists in supervision and development of nursing staff. May also act as lead of infection control for the community as applicable.
Participate in review of quality indicator reports and implement corrective action as necessary.
Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action as required.
Coordinates, assists, and monitors infection control program for staff and residents” in partnership with DON and designees.
Assists with evaluating and supervising resident care and making recommendations/changes as required.
Assists in reviewing resident pre-admission and/or admission information to determine level of care needed.
Assists with staffing to include interviewing, hiring, disciplinary action and terminations.
May assist with oversight of clinical responsibilities as required.
Evaluates the need for, organizes and coordinates educational programs in line with federal, state and local regulations and company policies.
Monitor delivery of care by other nursing staff. Implement corrective action as necessary.
Attends and participates in pertinent facility and organizational committee meetings. Chairs committees as assigned or ensures that an appropriate designee chairs as necessary.
Monitor and prepare reports as assigned.
Serves as acting Director of Nursing when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications & Experience
Registered Nurse (RN), long-term care experience preferred.
1 – 3 years experience as an RN.
1 – 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
1 year of experience in educating and/or training adult learners.
Expertise in PPS, MDS, OBRA and OSHA requirements preferred.
Must be knowledgeable of state and federal laws and regulations for skilled nursing facility operation in the State of Colorado.
Administrative experience preferred.
Must have computer word processing and database experience.
Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Sits, stands, bends and moves frequently during working hours.
Possible exposure to chemicals, blood borne pathogens and other communicable diseases.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Interacts with residents, family members and visitors frequently.
